Of the 218 445 reported murder cases in South Africa since 2013/2014 the Police Stations below represent the Top 30 stations where 40 911 murders were reported.
Of these Top 30 SAPS stations four provinces are represented: Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and the Eastern Cape.

If we look at the totals we see that the Western Cape has the highest number with most murders taking place in what is euphemistically called ‘Previously Disadvantaged Areas’ like Nyanga and the Cape Flats.
As the Western Cape government has NOT been as strident in highlighting or reporting ‘Farm Murders’ then we must presume that the DA led government, along with it’s citizens, has not seen a large number of farm murders in that province.
In Nelson Mandela Bay these are the Police Districts you need to avoid (based on murders reported to Top 30 Police Stations):
- Kwazakhele – 1125
- New Brighton – 1083
- Motherwell – 823
- Kwanobuhle – 651
Once again these four are all in what is euphemistically called ‘Previously Disadvantaged Areas’ or PDA’s.
