The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality will undertake a planned shutdown of the Glendinning Reservoir on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, to carry out upgrades to the reservoir’s inlet valves.
These essential upgrades will improve control of the water flow into the reservoir, enhancing the stability and reliability of water supply to communities served by the Glendinning Reservoir.
To minimise any impact on residents, the reservoir will be filled to capacity before the shutdown begins, ensuring sufficient water storage to maintain continuous supply throughout the duration of the work. In addition, contingency measures have been put in place to respond should any unforeseen operational challenges arise.
The Municipality appreciates the cooperation and understanding of residents as these important infrastructure improvements are implemented to strengthen the metro’s water supply system.
