The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to inform residents that at Rosedale / Tarpon substation, an 11kV circuit breaker tripped on Friday night, 08 May 2026, resulting in a power outage affecting the following areas:
AFFECTED AREAS: Tiryville and surrounding areas
A faulty cable was identified and repaired; however, during restoration attempts, another fault was detected on the network.
The Uitenhage Depot team is currently on site conducting repairs and further fault-finding operations. At this stage, there is unfortunately no estimated timeframe for supply restoration.
We understand the inconvenience and frustration this prolonged outage may cause and sincerely thank affected residents and stakeholders for their continued patience and understanding during this time.
More details will be communicated as soon as additional information becomes available.
