The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to inform residents that an 11kV circuit breaker at the Matomela Substation has tripped, resulting in a power outage affecting the following areas:
AFFECTED AREAS:
- KwaZakhele
- Njoli
- Zwide
- Surrounding areas
Technical teams have been notified of the outage and investigations are currently underway. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely thank affected residents and stakeholders for their patience and understanding during this time.
Further updates will be communicated as soon as additional information becomes available.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused. Every effort is being made to restore the electricity supply safely and as quickly as possible.
UPDATE:
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to inform residents that technical teams have identified and isolated a cable fault between Place of Safety and Daku Spar.
Due to network constraints, there are currently no alternative backfeeding options available to restore supply to the affected areas.
Customers supplied by nine affected substations will remain without electricity while repair work and further assessments continue.
At this stage, there is no estimated time for the restoration of electricity supply. Technical teams are on site and will continue working to resolve the fault as quickly and safely as possible.
The Municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused and thanks residents for their patience and understanding.
