The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents that a 22kV circuit breaker trip occurred at Kwaford / Uitenhage Road substation, resulting in a power outage affecting parts of the area.
Technical teams attended to the fault and investigations confirmed that the cable between Kwaford and Uitenhage Rd No.1 was vandalised. The affected cable has been isolated, earthed, and sent out for repairs.
The Municipality strongly condemns the vandalism of electrical infrastructure, which continues to negatively impact communities, businesses, and essential services. Residents are urged to report any suspicious activity involving municipal infrastructure to law enforcement authorities.
