The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Environmental Management Sub-Directorate, in collaboration with DEDEAT, hosted a Wetlands and Water Awareness Campaign at Grootkloof Environmental Education Centre. The event brought together learners and teachers who had participated in wetlands and water-related activities in February and March to share knowledge and experiences.
Acting Senior Education Officer Lisa Lotter welcomed attendees, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation. DEDEAT Environmental Officer Nontuthuzelo Mlobeli praised the students’ dedication, highlighting their use of posters, poetry, and podcasts to showcase their research. She noted that the initiative helped learners develop essential skills such as public speaking and collaboration.
Teachers provided positive feedback, commending the environmental club learners for their insightful presentations and contributions to the campaign.
