The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM) had previously scheduled a leak repair on the Churchill pipeline. However, unforeseen breakdowns have made it challenging to accumulate sufficient water storage to mitigate the impact of shutting down a bulk supply line. Consequently, this repair has been postponed to prevent a total collapse of one of the largest reticulation zones in the metro.
Unfortunately, the repair cannot be delayed indefinitely. Therefore, we would like to tentatively inform residents of a planned 24-hour shutdown of the Churchill pipeline on Friday, 11 April 2025.
Please note that this shutdown is likely to result in low water pressure in certain areas.
