The Feather Market Organ Society and the Music Society of Port Elizabeth jointly present their highly popular Soirée Musicale in the SUMMERSTRAND CHURCH, on WEDNESDAY 13 MAY at 18:00
A number of local top musicians will take part in a richly-varied programme of well-loved classical music – an hour long concert to which you can bring your friends as well.
The La Strada Choir, conducted by Anele Mutei, will sing two works by Vivaldi as well as the lovely Surely He hath borne our griefs from Handel’s Messiah. The main focus of this excellent choir is to perform Baroque music.
Albert Troskie and Justin Stone will play solos on the large Summerstrand organ, including Guilmant’s Paraphrase on Judas Maccabaeus.
Two singers – soprano Naomi Grobbelaar and tenor Anele Mutei, accompanied by Erika Bothma-Troskie, will contribute favourites such as Dein ist mein ganzes Herz and Memory by Andrew Lloyd-Webber.
Albert and Erika Troskie will play Bizet’s always popular Pearl Fishers Duet as a duet for organ and piano.
Brilliant performances will be given by the accomplished NMU violin lecturer, David Bester, and the flute virtuoso, Leonard Heydenrych, with well-loved works such as Hymne a l’amour.
Pianist Ciska Range and trombone player Isivile Maguga will treat the audience with an attractive work – the Finale from Rimsky-Korsakov’s Trombone Concerto.
In conclusion of what promises to be an unforgettable concert, all the musicians and choir will lead the audience in a sing-along finale.

Admission is free for members of the Organ and Music Societies. For non-members admission is only R50 and for pensioners R40. No entrance fee for students and school learners. No pre-booking. Tickets available on the night at the door. Coffee and cake (Manna Delights) will also be on sale.
