POWER OUTAGE – AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL AREA (Monday, 9 June 2025): The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents and businesses that the Airport Industrial area is currently experiencing a power outage due to ongoing maintenance on a transformer, which is being topped up with oil.
Our technical team is on site and attending to the matter. Power supply will be restored as soon as the work is completed and it is safe to do so.
POWER OUTAGE IN MOTHERWELL (Monday, 9 June 2025): The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents that a 22kV circuit breaker tripped at Motherwell Container/ MWK 1/1, causing a loss of power supply to the following areas:
- NU 29
- NU 30
- NU 11
- Shukushukuma and surrounding areas.
A team is on-site busy investigation and repairs.
POWER OUTAGE – WALMER AND KWANOBUHLE (Monday, 9 June 2025): The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents that power outages have been reported in Walmer, KwaNobuhle, and surrounding areas due to tripped circuit breakers at two key locations.
A circuit breaker at the Mabandla Substation has tripped, resulting in a disruption of electricity supply in KwaNobuhle and adjacent areas. Additionally, a separate incident at the Walmer Load Centre (Walmer Town Hall) has caused a power outage affecting Walmer and its surroundings.
Technical teams have been dispatched to investigate both incidents and carry out the necessary repairs. Restoration efforts are underway and will proceed as swiftly and safely as possible.
ELECTRICITY DISRUPTION AFFECTING WALMER AND SURROUNDING AREAS (10 June 2025): The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents that a 6.6kV circuit breaker has tripped at Walmer Load Centre, Walmer Townhall. This has caused a loss of electricity supply to a section of Walmer and surrounding areas.
Faulty cable was found and has since been isolated between Crane Avenue & Eagle Crescent substation. King Edward, Aylesbury and Eagle Crescent substations will remain off until further notice. Unfortunately, back feeding cannot be processed, due to inaccessibility at Buffelsfontein/King Edward substation because of water in the substation and the circuit breaker cannot be easily operated.
POWER OUTAGE – DEAL PARTY (Tuesday, 10 June 2025): The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents and businesses that we are aware of a power outage currently affecting Deal Party and the surrounding areas.
A technical team has been dispatched to investigate the cause of the outage and carry out the necessary repairs. Restoration of supply will proceed as soon as it is safe and feasible to do so.
POWER OUTAGE- TEMBANI/ DE STADES AND SURROUNDING AREAS (Tuesday, 10 June 2025): The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents that a 6.6kV circuit breaker tripped at Tembani/De States substation, causing a loss of power supply in Tembani/ De States, over head line and surrounding areas.
A team has been despatched to do investigation and repairs.
POWER OUTAGE – FITCHES CORNER/ WITTERKLIP AND VAN STADENS WOODRIDGE (Tuesday, 10 June 2025): The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents and businesses that we are aware of a power outage currently affecting Fitches Corner/ Witteklip, Van Stadens Woodridge and the surrounding areas.
A technical team has been dispatched to investigate the cause of the outage and carry out the necessary repairs. Restoration of supply will proceed as soon as it is safe and feasible to do so.
POWER OUTAGE – NORTH END AND SURROUNDING AREAS (Tuesday, 10 June 2025): The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents that a 6kV circuit breaker has tripped at the Edgar Street, resulting in a power outage affecting the following areas:
- North End
- Patterson Road
- Sydenham
- Sidwell and surrounding areas.
A technical team is currently on-site conducting investigations and carrying out the necessary repairs.

UPDATE: POWER OUTAGE – MOTHERWELL (Tuesday, 10 June 2025): The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to update residents on the ongoing power outage in Motherwell.
During fault-finding efforts, the technical team identified a blown white phase termination as the cause of the disruption. Electricity supply has since been restored to parts of Motherwell, and technicians are currently in the process of isolating and addressing the affected points to restore full supply to all impacted areas.
