The Sunrisers Eastern Cape lost their Captain yesterday.
Proteas T20I captain Markram will relocate to Kingsmead after Sunrisers Eastern Cape had done their level best to keep their former captain by utilising their Right to Match (RTM) card at the initial auction price of R12.4 million, before DSG raised their bid by a further R1.6 million.
The former highest priced player, Tristan Stubbs (R9.2 million in 2022), will now step up to the plate and lead the Sunrisers Eastern Cape through the Betway SA20 tournament.
Adrian Birrell will coach the side whose first outing will be against the Paarl Royals away on 27 December at Boland Park.
