Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Deputy Executive Mayor, Cllr Gary Van Niekerk, officially welcomed a 32-member delegation at the Sunrise Hotel in Bluewater Bay last night. The group includes faculty and staff from Florida State College at Jacksonville, the President of the Jacksonville Sister Cities Association (JSCA), and the Florida State Representative for Sister Cities International.
The delegation comprises students and academics from a range of disciplines, including Nursing Sciences, Political Science, Graphic Design, International Education, World Languages, Marine Biology, and Digital Media.
The partnership between the City of Jacksonville and Nelson Mandela Bay is facilitated by the JSCA, a member of Sister Cities International (SCI)—a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting citizen diplomacy and global cooperation. Over the years, the relationship between the two cities has flourished, especially in the area of arts and culture.
The visit emphasizes the shared commitment to strengthening and sustaining economic, cultural, and social exchanges between Nelson Mandela Bay and Jacksonville.
