Despatch SAPS is appealing to members of the public for assistance in an ongoing investigation following a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on 30 May 2026 at approximately 21:35 on the R75 near the Bus Depot in Bayland.
It is alleged that police received a complaint from Radio Control regarding a vehicle that had overturned. Upon arrival at the scene, members found a silver-grey GWM motor vehicle overturned on an embankment between the roadways.
Two women, namely Mandisa Sincwala (52) and Zukiswa Manangele (37), subsequently succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident. A third female occupant was transported by ambulance to Dora Nginza Hospital for medical treatment.
At this stage, the circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation, and police have not yet established who was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.
