POWER OUTAGE – MOTHERWELL: The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents that an 22kV circuit breaker has tripped at the Motherwell Container/MKW 1 resulting in a power outage affecting the following areas: NU 12, NU 29, NU 30 and Section of NU 11
Our technical team has been dispatched to assess the situation and carry out the necessary repairs. Power will be restored as soon as it is safe and feasible to do so.
POWER OUTAGE- FITCHES CORNER/ GREENBUSHES: The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents and businesses that a power outage is currently affecting sections of Fitches Corner, Greenbushes, and surrounding areas.
The interruption is due to the tripping of a 22kV circuit breaker.
Our technical team has been dispatched to assess the situation and carry out the necessary repairs. Power will be restored as soon as it is safe and practical to do so.

POWER OUTAGE IN MOTHERWELL NU11, NU12, NU29 & NU30: The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents of NU11, NU12, NU29, and NU30 that a hot connection fault was identified during a planned power outage for essential maintenance conducted by the Electricity and Energy Directorate.
The maintenance, which forms part of our broader programme to ensure the sustainability and reliability of the electricity network, was successfully completed in the areas of Shuku Shukuma, Tsjoksville Village, and Steve Tshwete. Power supply to these areas has already been fully restored.
However, during the execution of the maintenance program, a fault affecting NU11, NU12, NU29, and NU30 was discovered. This fault requires urgent attention to prevent further damage and to safeguard critical infrastructure. The remaining maintenance scope will be expedited on the 3rd August 2025 as communicated.
Our technical teams are on site and working diligently to repair the fault and restore power to the affected areas as soon as possible.
