POWER OUTAGE – ALGOA PARK: The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents and businesses that a power outage is currently affecting the Northdowns Substation, Albatros Street, Banbury Street, and surrounding areas.
The interruption is due to the tripping of a 6.6kV circuit breaker.
Our technical team has been dispatched to assess the situation and carry out the necessary repairs. Power will be restored as soon as it is safe and practical to do so.

Substations: Fitches Corner, Thornhill, Summit, and Van Stadens
Affected sites/lines:
- SGP (Summit Gamtoos Pumps)
- SLL (Summit Loerie Limebank)
- TFM (Thornhill Farmers/Manthiefontein)
- TBS (Thornhill Boxes & Shooks)
- VMW (Van Stadens Woodridge)
- FGR (Fitches Corner/Gedultsrivier)
- FCW (Fitches Corner/Witteklip)
- FBH (Fitches Corner/Blue Horizon Bay)
- GBF (Greenbushes Fitches Corner)
- Van Stadens Windfarm and DSU lines
The outage is due to the tripping of a 66kV circuit breaker.
Our technical teams are on site assessing the situation and working to restore supply as quickly and safely as possible. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
