The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality urges motorists and residents to exercise caution as several roads have been affected by flooding and traffic disruptions following the recent heavy rainfall.
3rd Avenue Dip, Newton Park
The road remains flooded and is closed to all traffic. Barricades have been erected and no vehicles are permitted to pass through the area.
Alternative Route: William Moffett Expressway
M4 Settlersway (behind North End), Southbound to Northbound
Flooding has affected sections of the roadway. Motorists may use the remaining two lanes but are advised to drive with extreme caution and adhere to all traffic management measures in place.
Safety Reminder: Residents are urged to avoid flooded roads and low-lying areas. Do not attempt to drive or walk through flooded crossings, as water levels can rise rapidly and pose a serious danger.
