The Nelson Mandela Bay Roads & Transport Directorate has identified that many cul-de-sac areas have been overlooked due to steep gradients and the absence of formal stormwater systems. As a result, traditional drainage often fails, leading to flooding and continuous maintenance issues.
In response, the municipality has launched a pilot project on Glendinning Street in Schauderville, trialing an eco-friendly and cost-effective solution through a bioswale rain garden.
