Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s CFO, Jackson Ngcelwane, presented the 2023/24 Auditor-General’s Report, which highlighted the audit results and the municipality’s financial situation. The report’s purpose is to:
- Record the municipality’s activities over the financial year.
- Evaluate its performance against the approved budget.
- Ensure the municipality is accountable to the local community for decisions made throughout the year.
Ngcelwane mentioned that there is a regulated process to present the annual report to residents, as required by Section 21(a) of the Municipal Systems Act, which ensures that feedback is provided to the public as part of public participation.
