The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Member of the Mayoral Committee for Safety & Security, Cllr Luyanda Lawu, alongside Acting Executive Director for Safety & Security Nilton Whitebooi, Acting Director of Policy, Strategy, and Research Amanda Dowd Krause, and senior municipal officials, recently hosted an MFMA Circular 88 Addendum 6 Workshop at the South End Fire Station.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the publication and implementation of MFMA C88, address challenges related to its implementation and reporting, and provide information on the reporting requirements under the MFMA.
MFMA Circular 88 is a legislative guideline provided by National Treasury to municipalities, aimed at aligning strategic planning and budgeting while streamlining the number of indicators to lessen the reporting burden on municipalities.
This “tool” enables municipalities to track performance, ensuring the delivery of effective and efficient services to residents.
