HUMANSDORP – A successfully executed intelligence-driven operation resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old man and the seizure of a substantial amount of illicit drugs.
On Monday, 01 June 2026 at approximately 22:00 the Sarah Baartman District Crime Intelligence Unit conducted an intelligence driven operation, executing a search warrant in collaboration with the Sarah Baartman District Intervention Team at a targeted premises in Mhlonyane Street Kwanomzamo, Humansdorp.
On arrival at the premises the search warrant was introduced to the 33-year-old owner of the premises where after a search was conducted.
During the search police found eight hundred and thirty five (835) full mandrax tablets, 207.54g of tik and 93.72g of cocaine hidden in furniture items throughout the house.
The drugs with an estimated street value of one hundred and fifty thousand rand (R150 000-00) were confiscated and the 33-year-old man was arrested for dealing in drugs.
The suspect is due to appear before court soon.
The Acting Sarah Baartman District Commissioner, Brigadier Abdoerahgmaan Humphries applauded the team, commended their intelligence-driven work, and warn syndicates that SAPS will continue to aggressively dismantle drug networks.
