JEFFREY’S BAY – A coordinated multi-agency intelligence-driven operation has successfully resulted in the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of a substantial quantity of illicit narcotics at two separate premises within the Jeffreys Bay policing precinct on Wednesday, 02 September 2026.
The team formed part of a massive, ongoing inter-provincial cross-border operations across the Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Free State, and Northern Cape provinces. This coordinated tracking initiative targets criminal syndicates and illegal supply lines moving across provincial boundaries.
The Jeffreys Bay leg of the operation was executed through the joint efforts by members attached to Humansdorp Crime Intelligence, the Jeffreys Bay Crime Prevention Unit (CPU), and the South African National Defence Force (SANDF). Acting on verified intelligence regarding alleged drug possession and dealing, teams operationalised search warrants in terms of Section 22 of the Criminal Procedure Act, 1977 (Act 51 of 1977).
The operation targeted two identified locations that were searched. In total, the operation successfully removed 451.5 Mandrax tablets and 50g of Tik off the streets, leading to three active criminal dockets for drug possession and dealing.
The SAPS management has commended the seamless collaboration between Crime Intelligence, local Crime Prevention units, the SANDF, and the broader inter-provincial teams for effectively disrupting drug supply lines and making local communities safer.
The three suspects are expected to appear in the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court soon.
