Springbok U20 Coach, Kevin Foote and Springbok U20 Captain Riley Norton were both in Gqeberha for the TRC U20 Rugby Championships.
The team played 3 Match Days over 3 weekends at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium against Australia, Argentina and New Zealand running out championship winners after a nail biter of a final when the Springboks drew 29-29 with the All Blacks.
Despite the minimal traditional media presence at the pressers both Kevin and Riley had high praise for the support that they had received from the general public.
In addition, every time that they entered a press conference room both shook the hands of each person present and introduced themselves.
And when they left the room?
Both Kevin and Riley made a point of thanking each media person for the time gifted in support of their team.
We have all seen those videos of Renaldo interacting with fans contrasted with other football players so far up their own shorts that they even ignore the cutest of little fans.
So, it is probably safe to say; “Watch out Renaldo – you have competition from Foote and Riley!”
