The Joint Operations Centre (JOC) has once again convened a status update meeting attended by all relevant stakeholders, including Acting Executive Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, Cllr Thembinkosi Mafana.
In attendance as well is emergency and essential service departments to assess conditions on the ground, strengthen response efforts, and prioritise interventions in areas most affected by flooding.
Municipal teams remain fully deployed and are continuously monitoring the impact of the heavy rainfall, including damage to infrastructure, affected communities, and disruptions to essential services. Close attention is being given to flooded and inaccessible roads, with real-time information guiding response and recovery operations.
Residents are urged to exercise extreme caution, avoid flooded roads and low-lying areas, and comply with all safety directives issued by authorities. Emergency services remain on high alert and continue to respond to incidents as they arise.
