The citizens of South Africa are all aware of the underlying ‘open secret’ applicable to the redeployment of party members when they are placed under suspicion of being ‘naughty’.
My challenge to those in charge is a simple means test and if they answer YES to any of these questions, when called upon to pass judgement on a fellow party member, then their integrity is in question:
- If I fire this person will my party lose votes?
- If I fire this person will he/she/it reveal my secrets?
- If I fire this person will my gravy train stop?
- If I fire this person will I be demoted/re-deployed?
Go ahead, make my day, I dare you to apply the above – any yes answer will reveal to you just how corrupt and uncaring you are of the people that voted you into your position.
