The 2026 DF95 Global Championships are being sailed from Friday 16 to Friday 23 October 2026 at Theewaterskloof Dam, Cape Town.
The Venue for the event is the Theewater Sports Club located on the Northern shores of the Theewaterskloof Dam, South Africa’s 3rd largest dam and the main water supply to Cape Town.
There are 71 entries from all over the world – 23 of which are from South Africa.
Representing Gqeberha’s PERBC are the following sailors: Andrew Bosworth, Dave Oldham.
Two other members of the Port Elizabeth Radio Boat Club (PERBC) are at the championships assisting with the smooth running: Justin Dent (Measurement) and Willie Zevenster (Scorer).
Each race in the series consists of 4 heats (A, B, C, D). At a pre-determined point in the regatta the fleet will be split into Gold and Silver and then the Chamionships decided.
After two races Andrew Bosworth is lying in 30th place and David Oldham 57th.
As at the time of writing just over half the fleet had completed three races – so the results below are only an indication of how the sailors have progressed. With 5 more days to go things will change a lot (or maybe not!).
The Top 3 are:
- ITA 130 – Paolo Cappa (2 races completed)
- GBR 112 – Craig Richards (3 races completed)
- GBR 51 – John Tushingham (3 races completed)
The Top 3 South Africans are:
- RSA 106 – Bruce Schnell (2 races completed)
- RSA 110 – John Herridge (2 races completed)
- RSA 176 – John McKerchar (2 races completed)
