This 13 September, the Daisy Jones Bar at Summerhill Wines, Stellenbosch hosts Further On Up The Road – a once-in-a-lifetime blues reunion decades in the making.
What started at the Stellenbosch Folk Club in 1976 now comes full circle, as musical brothers Steve Louw, Rob “Big Bob” Nagel, Willem Möller, Albert Frost, and Simon Orange reunite for one unforgettable night.
From All Night Radio to Big Sky and the legendary Blues Broers, these artists shaped the sound of South African blues and rock. Their history includes backing Rodriguez on his 1998 tour – a story immortalised in the Oscar-winning documentary Searching for Sugar Man.
Expect classics from Waiting for the Dawn, The Heart’s the Best Part, Devils and Gods, Sharp Street – plus tributes to the blues masters who inspired it all: Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, John Lee Hooker, and more.
This isn’t just a concert – it’s a celebration of lifelong musical brotherhood. These are artists who’ve stood side by side for nearly 50 years. And on 13 September, they’re back on the same stage where it all began.
Don’t miss this historic moment in South African music.
