The 2026/27 Hollywoodbets Pro Series season returns for its fifth weekend of action as the Hollywoodbets Dolphins and Warriors host the DP World Lions and Fidelity Titans, respectively, in the Hollywoodbets Pro50 and Pro20 Series competitions on 07–08 November.
Entry to matches at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium in Durban and the Nelson Mandela University in Gqeberha will be free, with all games streamed live on Cricket South Africa’s YouTube channel.
In the Dolphins’ clash against the Lions, the home side will be looking to build on their improved performances.
After suffering two defeats against the Titans in the opening round, the KwaZulu-Natal outfit bounced back with comprehensive displays against newcomers Warriors, with captain Nondumiso Shangase pleased with the progress made by her side.
“I think on that game, we just told ourselves that it wasn’t our best performance, especially batting-wise, because we can’t blame the bowlers. They did their job,” Shangase commented.
“But we did speak after that match, and I think we fixed it well against the Warriors. It showed with the performance that we gave in those matches.
“We’re still finding our best combinations, but the girls are doing their best in everything that we do, which is good for us and it’s making the coaches’ job easy.”
With the Lions visiting Durban this weekend, Shangase, who recorded her first half-century of the season in a Pro20 contest against the Warriors, is hoping her side can continue building momentum and secure important points in both competitions.
“Winning is our main focus. We want to put points on the board.
“If it doesn’t go our way, we will still be positive and go work on it and come back stronger. But our main focus is to win.”
In Gqeberha, the newly promoted Warriors will be aiming to make the most of their home-ground advantage when they face the challenging task of taking on the Pro50 and Pro20 log leaders, Titans.
After their opening round was washed out in Week 1, the Warriors have since faced the Dolphins and Garden Route Badgers without picking up a point as they continue to adjust to the demands of the Pro Series in their debut campaign.
Warriors all-rounder and key performer this season, Alyssa Erxleben, who has scored 84 runs and taken six wickets, including five in the Pro20 with best figures of three for 40 against the Badgers in their last outing, believes the opening matches have been a learning experience for her team.
“I think it’s been a big learning curve for us as a team, especially being the new side in the top six. We’ve had to learn where we stand in relation to the other teams and understand the level of consistency and standards required at this level,” Erxleben said.
“It was really pleasing to finally get some game time against the Dolphins and Badgers. It gave us a valuable opportunity to test ourselves against quality opposition, get valuable game time and see where we are as a team.”
With the Warriors now preparing for what will hopefully be their first Pro Series matches at home, Erxleben is looking forward to playing at home and hopes the team can put in a positive performance against the log leaders.
“I think there’s always been something special about playing in front of a home crowd and we’re looking forward to making the most of this opportunity and hopefully putting in some good performances this weekend.”
