Eskom need not fear the adoption of EV’s as the most compelling reason to promote the adoption of EV’s is the prospect of much higher electricity sales figures to Eskom and local utilities.
Couple that with the already available Vehicle to Grid Capabilities of certain EV’s that will be able to supply the grid with electricity on demand during peak hours which Eskom can re-sell and we have the prospect of a widely distributed network that is truly democratic and stable.
The Vehicle to Grid capacity is akin to you opening a grocery store that allows your clients to stock it themselves with excess produce that they have – and that comes at a magnificent profit!
Eskom 2.0 should become one in which all stakeholders can contribute and consume according to their needs – true democracy at work.
