Once you have finished reading pop along to Straton Solar – you may need them very soon.
With reference to this warning by Retief Odendaal: NMB Electricity Infrastructure Nears Total Collapse – here is what my late mate, Tony – who used to work at the NMB Electricity Department – said ad nauseum:
About Sub Stations:
The municipality had a sub station team that visited each sub station on a rotational basis to do routine maintenance – checked the building (repairing breakages on the outside and inside), mowed the grass, removed weeds etc. swept and cleaned the interior, inspected and tested breakers, oiled locks etc. checked alarm system.
About Pylons:
Apprentice electricians were tasked to walk the pylons on a regular basis to inspect the line, pylons and cables. Teams mowed grass, removed brush and maintained pylons.
How does NMB do maintenance today?
When it breaks fix it.
Maybe the NMB should apply the same thinking to the Mayoral Vehicle, Councilor salaries, phone contracts and the like and see who complains first and the loudest.
