The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has provided the following update on ongoing restoration work along the Chelsea–Arlington–Walmer–Summerstrand line.
Significant progress continues to be made on site. Of the 12 planned excavation holes, 11 have been completed, with work on the final hole currently underway. All monopole structures have now been delivered, and the assembly process is progressing well.
The next phase will see the installation of standoff isolators once the monopole sections have been fully assembled. Concrete rings have also been delivered and will support the installation of the monopoles.
The Municipality remains committed to restoring the infrastructure as swiftly and safely as possible. We sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding of residents during this time.
