Dear All,
Our next Know Your Bay will be on Tuesday 7th of July. Dr Greg Hofmeyr, curator of the marine mammal collection at Bayworld (the largest in the Southern hemisphere) will share his passion for Elephant Seals. These remarkable marine mammals are the largest of the seals, reaching several tons in weight, and diving to hundreds of meters deep. They migrate thousands of kilometres away far from their homelands in the Southern Ocean, including to places like South Africa. This talk will discuss how extraordinary these animals are, the threats that they face and learn about Lady Rita’s visit to our Bay.
The event will take place at Bayworld from 5:30 pm. It is free and open to all. Snacks and beverages will be available.
