Gqeberha: In front of a capacity crowd the Sunrisers astern Cape delivered a mighty blow to the Pretoria Capitals with a bonus point victory this evening.
After Captain Tristan Stubbs won the toss and elected to bat first we saw openers De Kock and Barstow (77 and 52 for a 129 partnership) set the tone for the match which the Sunrisers closed out at 188/6 after 20 0vers.
The Capitals needed to get 150 runs in order to avoid gifting the Sunrisers a bonus point.
After the Capitals first five overs the writing was on the wall as they struggled to break free of the Orange Shirts crowding every fielding position on the field.
Some fine bowling and fielding from the Sunrisers restricted the Pretoria outfit to 140/10 after 16 overs allowing the Sunrisers to win by 48 runs.
This second victory puts the Sunrisers on top of the log with 10 points after two matches and two wins.
