Yokhuselo Haven Potjiekos Competition – a first for the Vegan!
The 2025 Yokhuselo Haven Potjikos Cooking Competition was held at the Mill Park Bowling Club on Saturday, 2 August.
7 teams entered and the results were close – with the two teams in the running for first place: Gianna and Franco Gemianiani with a Beef Potjie were neck and neck with Alan Straton and Nicholas Parkin (Team One and a Half Men) with a Vegan Curry.
Fat Cats Catering and Olga Williams were the judges and they gave it to the Vegan Curry Pojie based on their unique home made sambals, chutney, lime pickle and depth of flavour from home made masala and whole spices.
